Paper to Metal

Just got back from a meeting on Rose Street with the Edinburgh City Council and Pentland Precision Engineering who brought along the first set of laser cut panels (‘Beachcomber, Tuesday’) in order to have a look at the fixing options. They are in their original steel colour now but will be powder coated in a dark brown before applied to the windows (I am starting to become a little conscious about the increasing amount of grey colour within my blog entries and blame it on the weather!). It’s crazy to see the paper work reproduced in metal, with all the little blemishes that you get when you hand cut paper, and which I am really fond of. You will see some of the originals on the bottom image pinned up against my studio wall, hovering above other colleagues desks (thanks for letting me branch out once again guys!).
